1. Introduction

Welcome to LevelNetwork IntelliLink Craft PRO. This plugin is designed to be your ultimate semantic architecture assistant for WordPress. Internal linking is one of the most powerful, yet often neglected, on-page SEO strategies.

What is it used for?

• Building a strong, contextually relevant internal linking structure.
• Passing PageRank (link juice) efficiently between your pillar content and cluster articles.
• Saving hours of manual work by using premium AI APIs to generate target keywords.
• Automatically linking specific terms globally across your site.
• Keeping your site healthy by detecting orphaned pages and broken links.

3. AI Setup & API Keys

Before generating keywords with premium APIs, you must configure your AI provider:

• Go to IntelliLink Craft -> Settings and click the "AI Integration" tab.
• Select your preferred AI Provider from the dropdown (e.g., OpenAI).
• Enter your Secret API Key obtained from the provider's developer console.
• Optionally customize the model string if you want to use a newer version.
• Click "Test Connection" to verify, then click "Save Settings" to store your credentials securely.

4. Generating AI Target Keywords

Target keywords represent the core topics a specific post is trying to rank for. IntelliLink uses these keywords to find link opportunities in other posts.

Note: You can also manually type keywords. If you use RankMath, Yoast SEO, SEOPress, or All in One SEO, IntelliLink will automatically pre-fill this field with your existing focus keywords!

5. Link Suggestions in the Editor

While writing a new post, you might want to link to your older, existing content. IntelliLink does the heavy lifting:

• In the post editor, click the "Scan Links" button in the IC - Internal Link Suggestions meta box.
• The plugin will search your entire database for other posts that have "Target Keywords" matching the text you are writing.
• You will see a contextual highlight preview showing exactly where the keyword appears in your text.
• If the keyword appears multiple times in your text, each context will be displayed with a recommendation to link only the first valid occurrence to avoid excessive looping.
• Select your preferred Link Target (e.g., Same Window or New Window).
• Click Auto-Insert (PRO) to embed the link automatically directly into your text.
  Note: The Auto-Insert feature intelligently detects if the page uses complex page builders (like Enfold, Elementor, Divi, WPBakery, Bricks, Oxygen, or Beaver Builder). If a builder is detected, Auto-Insert will automatically disable itself to prevent layout corruption, prompting you to use the "Copy HTML" button.

6. Category Siloing

Category Siloing groups related content together to establish strong topical authority. By interlinking articles only within the same category, you create a "silo" of relevance that search engines love.

Once Category Siloing is enabled in Settings, the Internal Link Suggestions in the post editor will strictly recommend linking to posts that share at least one category with the current post.

7. Auto-Linking Engine & Total Automation

If you have a crucial page (e.g., "SEO Services") and you want every mention of the phrase "SEO services" on your blog to link to that page, use Auto-Linking.

Define keyword-to-link rules via the "Auto-Linking" page. The plugin will dynamically convert matches into anchor links on the frontend.

What is the Total Automation System? (PRO)

If you prefer a fully automated workflow, enable the Total Automation System from the Advanced Settings. When activated, every time you save "Target Keywords" for an article (manually or via AI), the system will automatically create Auto-Linking rules for those exact keywords, pointing directly back to the article! This guarantees instant internal link connectivity across your entire website without needing to manually define rules. Furthermore, if you configure an AI Provider and enable Auto Generate Synonyms, the plugin uses WP-Cron to silently generate powerful synonyms for these rules in the background over the next few seconds.

Keyword Variations & Synonyms (PRO)

When managing rules, you can supply a comma-separated list of Synonyms. The Auto-Linker uses a highly optimized single-pass engine to evaluate the main keyword and all synonyms simultaneously. This guarantees that multiple variations of the same target keyword don't clash or override each other, providing maximum flexibility for your SEO campaigns.

Max Density & Cooldown Limiters (PRO)

To avoid dangerous "keyword stuffing" and over-optimization penalties, you can configure global link limiters under the PRO Settings page:

• Max Total Links Per Post: Enforce a strict maximum cap on the absolute total number of auto-links injected into a single post.
• Cooldown Distance: Ensure links aren't clustered too closely together by enforcing a minimum character distance between one auto-link and the next.

Visual Analytics Dashboard (PRO)

The Auto-Linking hub includes an interactive analytics dashboard (powered by Chart.js) that gives you a bird's-eye view of your internal linking strategy. You can monitor the distribution of your rules (e.g., Same Tab vs. New Tab) and instantly spot your most heavily targeted URLs using the Top Target URLs bar chart.

Auto-Link Colors

Customize the styling of links generated by the Auto-Linking engine under Settings -> Advanced Settings using visual color pickers. Customize the Link Color and Link Hover Color dynamically.

Excluded Zones & Post Exclusions (PRO)

In the PRO version, you can define specific CSS Classes or IDs (e.g. .my-calculator, #footer) to be skipped by the Auto-Linking engine. You can also define specific Post IDs/URLs to exclude from being auto-linked globally.

8. Global Link Opportunities

Our powerful Global Link Opportunities dashboard acts as a site-wide scanner. It cross-references your saved Target Keywords with the content of every single article on your site to locate missed link placements.

• Go to IntelliLink Craft -> Global Opportunities.
• Review the list of potential matches. You will see the Source Post, the exact Keyword matched, its Context, and the Recommended Target Post.
• Simply click Auto-Insert Link to immediately inject the link into the old article's content, right from the dashboard.

9. Link Stats, Orphans & Broken Links

Site architecture health is critical for SEO.

• Run Data Sync: On the main Dashboard, click this button to force the plugin to crawl and analyze your posts.
• Orphaned Posts: Find articles that currently receive zero internal links from other pages to fix crawl visibility.
• Broken Link Scanner: Scan all your internal links, verify status codes, and get alerts for broken links (404 status codes) to preserve your SEO score and keep visitors on active pages.

10. Smart Tooltips

Smart Tooltips enhance the user experience by showing a beautiful preview of the linked page when a user hovers over an internal link generated by IntelliLink Craft.

Configure tooltips under Advanced Settings by checking "Enable Smart Tooltips". Once enabled, hover tooltips displaying the target page's featured image and excerpt are rendered automatically on desktop devices.
